How To Make Natural Fruit Juices

Making natural fruit juice is easy when you know how. Using the best quality fruit and a juicer that's simple to operate couldn't be easier. The best way to improve your health is by drinking fresh fruit juice to provide a natural burst of energy. There are three easy steps in learning how to make natural fruit juice.

The first step is having the right juicer. Citrus fruits such as grapefruit and oranges are easy to juice - just use a citrus juicer or citrus press. A juice extractor easily removes fresh juice from all fruits by macerating the fruit to a pulp.

Next is to choose and prepare the fruit. Fresh fruit is always best to use for juicing. If you can't use organic fruit then thoroughly clean all fruit before juicing to remove any trace of pesticides. Never juice fruits that are overripe and remove all bruised parts before chopping. Try not to cut fruit unless you're going to juice immediately. Otherwise you'll lose all the goodness. Watermelon, rock melon, honeydew, grapes and pears can be juiced with seeds. Remove papaya and apple seeds. Citrus fruits contain seeds that may leave a bitter taste in natural fruit juice. Large pits from stone fruits need removing as they can damage your juicer. Also remove skins from pineapples, oranges, grapefruit, kiwi-fruit, mango, passion fruit and papaya.

Finally, natural fruit juice is made using fresh raw fruit. You can juice a single fruit or use simple combinations when you begin juicing. Fresh fruit used in natural juicing includes: grape; stone fruits - peaches, nectarines and cherries; temperate fruits - pears and apples; berries - strawberries and raspberries; melons - watermelon and rock melon; citrus - limes and lemons; and tropical fruit like mango and pineapple. Just about any fruit can be juiced except fruits with little water content such as bananas. Fresh bananas can be added to any fruit juice recipe for a rich smooth taste. If you're using a juice extractor: cut fruit into pieces small enough to fit into the hopper of your juice machine. Once the machine is on, push the pieces through the hopper with the plunger provided.

Fresh juice is collected in one receptacle whilst pulp is retained in the pulp basket. It is best to drink freshly made fruit juice immediately before healthy enzymes are lost. For a smoother drink, mix natural fruit juice with banana to reduce bitterness from fruits such as grapefruit. Pears are a hypoallergenic fruit, great for digestion with a low acid content. To make your natural fruit juice taste more appealing you can include: coconut or fresh ginger. Freshly shredded coconut produces a smooth, tropical blend. Using freshly chopped ginger will add spice to your drink and provide a natural energy boost. If you don't want to drink the natural pulp from juicing then freeze it. You can use it as an additional source of fiber when making: breads, cakes, desserts, muffins, meat loaf, and sauces.
